Como

Yet another park and playground area on the water. There is a small swimming pool for the kids and also a netted off swimming area in the river. There is a bike track that goes arouond the outside of the park and you can walk or ride your bike across the old railway bridge over the water. There is also a nice cafe :) Anywhere you go in Sydney there is a nice cafe, its very much part of the culture to sit and enjoy your coffee.

More Darling Harbour

Darling Harbour

In the Darling Harbour area of Sydney they have recently built a wonderful park for the kids. Ther is a splash park and a playground. It is surrounded by nice eateries and entertainment, lots of fun for the kids.

"The Birds"

My mum feeds the wild birds some days. They are beautiful and they let you get quite close.

Sydney Harbour and Royal Botanic Gardens

Sydney Harbour and Royal Botanic Gardens

Gunnamatta Park

Another beautiful place is the bay side of Cronulla. It has a great playground for the kids, nice grass picnic areas and picnic sheds and clear, calm water for the kids. I actually learnt to swim here. The swimming area is surrounded by nets although it doesn't stop the jellyfish :) We used to have lessons at 7am and I remember it being freezing! Once you could jump in and swim the length of the pontoon you got a certificate to say you could swim. Now, picture being a little kid jumping off a high pontoon into black water where you couldn't see the bottom. It was cold, and yes, you might hit the odd jellyfish. I remember crying and refusing to go into my lessons. As an adult i can see why!! I eventually did learn to swim and that day my instructor and I swam from the pontoon into the beach.
